DIY Fridays: Organize a Bottomless Pit Purse

So, I have this uber duber cute purse that I got for my birthday a few years ago.  And while I love the ever-loving crap out of the design, the inside leaves a lot to be desired.  What I mean is, it's just a bag that looks like a purse.  Real purses have compartments, dammit! 😏



So, what to do when you get a bottomless pit bag purse and have lots of junk to put in it?  Well, you organize it, that's what!




How? You ask.

Like this:

1. Figure out what exactly you need.  What do you need to store in your purse?  Pull everything out of your current purse and lay out out on the table.
2. Sort. What do you really, really need?  What can you get away with leaving out?  
3.  Now, look at what's left.  How can you sort each item together?  
4. Go shopping to buy some small makeup bags. A different one for each item type.  

Here is my list:

Organizational Compartments Needed

• Wallet
• Phone
• Medicine (prescription and non-prescription)/Makeup (lipgoss)/Tools (nail files, clippers, tweezers, mirror)
• Writing Implements (pens, markers, etc.)
• Gum/candy
• Change
• Keys
• Sunglasses (you can make your own like mine below here)
• Misc. (including mini notebooks, calendar, etc.)
• Business Card Holder

Then I found these to organize each thing into:

I do need more things, like a pencil case (I would like a soft one--another DIY perhaps??) for my writing utensils.  And a place to put my mini-notebooks.  And a place to put my damn gum.  I am tired of it getting dirty while being in the bottom of my bag, dammit 😜


But you get the picture.  You get smaller, and different-colored, compartments to keep all your stuff in order, so that way nothing ever gets lost (or runs loose) in the bottom of your purse again!
